Codes & Commissioning
Commissioning & Handover Checklist
Prepare the records, contacts, and training arrangements needed for a documented handover.
For facility managers, project managers, maintenance leads, and commissioning teams.
Agree on acceptance before installation is complete
Define the approved sequence of operation, commissioning scope, responsible parties, and required documentation before the site is ready for startup. The project team should understand what will be demonstrated, what records will be produced, and who can accept the system.
Have qualified personnel verify the integrated response
Commissioning confirms that the installed bay responds as designed in your building. The responsible specialists verify the applicable detection, exhaust, alarm, interlock, and control functions using the approved project procedure. Do not use a website checklist to simulate a release or change an alarm setting.
Make the operating information usable
Collect the approved drawings, operating instructions, component manuals, maintenance requirements, and commissioning records in a location the facility team can access. Confirm that operators know their training requirements, the site’s response procedure, and who to contact for service.
Close the remaining items
Keep a written list of open items, their owners, and the required follow-up. Confirm the acceptance status with the project team and reviewing officials as applicable. Schedule follow-up maintenance using the equipment manufacturers’ instructions and the approved facility program.
